Throughout the life of the Cloudburst Fire Bucket, which now spans more than a decade, we’ve been continuously striving for innovation and reliability by using the latest technology and methods available to us from many industries around the world.

Fire Bucket Training With The San Diego Fire Department

On one of our recent trips to the USA we caught up with the San Diego Fire Department for some fire bucket training. See the slideshow above for a series of shots showing the drill process and throughout this article you can watch three videos of the Cloudburst Fire Bucket in action showing lift-off, dip-filling and actuated drops.

Cloudburst Fire Bucket Fine Tuning Throughout 2018

The past 12 months has proven to be a very intensive period of development with a focus on fine-tuning the operating system of the Cloudburst Fire Bucket. We’ve made the lift head more durable and reliable, and less vulnerable and sensitive to the environments it’s exposed to. These new developments have proven to be a great success by preventing downtime in the field where every minute counts.

Committed To Innovation & Technical Creativity

The IMS production team has some of the most innovative and creative minds across engineering and aviation backgrounds. Drawing on this wealth of experience throughout a number of complementary industries means we’re capable of formulating systems and techniques not available with any other helicopter equipment available on the market worldwide.

Monsoon Valve With Full Time Multi Drop

Additional to the fine-tuning we carried out in 2018, we also refined the Cloudburst Fire Bucket’s valve operation, essentially making it faster to respond when actuated in both the open and close directions.

While using pneumatics for compatibility with water, we developed a system that enhances the already robust and effective valve to make it work instantaneously with pilot or crew inputs from the helicopter.

With the Monsoon Valve with Full Time Multi Drop, every part of the load is placed exactly where it’s intended, regardless of it being a split load or full drop, with or without a long line, and irrespective of the long line length.

This has given our client operators far more precise control of the release of water from their Cloudburst Fire Bucket when regulating the fill level of the bucket, using the multi drop feature, or releasing the entire load of water.

The following video demonstrates the responsiveness of the all-new Monsoon Valve with Full Time Multi Drop.

Cloudburst Fire Buckets Worldwide

The Cloudburst Fire Bucket is rapidly becoming implemented into operations around the world to participate in fire fighting missions with great success. To date, buckets have been sold directly by IMS and via our international network of distributors in Canada, USA, Bolivia, Ecuador, Colombia, Jordan, Switzerland, Thailand, Switzerland and of course throughout New Zealand and Australia.

Always Looking Forward

We’re extremely happy with the progress made over the past 12 months in various areas of the Cloudburst Fire Bucket system and have received great feedback from our clients who have used the new system.

Looking forward to the future we will continue to develop, refine and improve the Cloudburst Fire Bucket, in keeping with the needs of the aerial firefighting sector.
